The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of John Fowler can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

Patsy Tindell

I first met John in 1980 when my Dad was staying with me after open heart surgery. We were walking slowly down Bellaire street when John stopped to introduce himself and encourage us. I believe that he told us he too had heart problems. Later I met Doris at Midway High School where I got a job teaching. Both John and Doris were always friendly and supportive. Many times as they walked by my house, they would stop for a few minutes. Doris was always interested in the flowers in my yard. The last time I talked with John, he once more stopped his walk for a few minutes to talk with me. As usual he was upbeat and friendly. I will miss him. He was a very special person.
