The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Charles McBride can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

"Mickey" .....

We were building rigs in Singapore and Mickey was in charge and living there  .. The typical relationship between a drilling contractor and shipyard was usually somewhat "strained".. Although , Mickey was not the "usual kind of guy" .. The rigs were delivered more or less on time and within our budget .. They all went to work at various places around the world and continued to work through the worst depression during my career in the oil field ..  ( if the one we are in now gets any worse or lasts a lot longer we may have a match for the one I am talking about that lasted from the early 80's to late 90's ) ..

Mickey was a truly fine person to work with .. Smart , witty, always had a joke and a smile , yet never took himself or "his PHD" too seriously .. We used to talk ( this was before e mails and text messages ) for many hours about a wide range of subjects .. Once he was taking me back to Changi airport  and we got lost .. Finally after driving by one of the hotels for the third time , he dropped me off and put me in a taxi to the airport from there ..

We wish him well during this phase of his journey and know God has a special place for him where he will continue to teach and be the lind of person we all admire and take comfort from ...  Our Love to you , Mickey ......
