Gerald Schroeder, 54, of Dallas, passed away suddenly Friday, August 28, 2015. Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 2 from 5:00- 7:OO pm at Oak Crest Funeral Home.

Services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 3 at OakCrest Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Howard officiating. Private burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park.

Gerald Schroeder was born to Robert and June (Tyler) Schroeder in Waco on May 5, 1961. He graduated from Midway High School in 1979. After graduation, he attended the University of North Texas and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He has worked at the City of Dallas Public Library System for the last 27 years.

At age 10, Gerald became fascinated with sports' statistics and that hobby led him to a part-time job with the Dallas Morning News where he worked the last 10 years in the sports department. Even though Gerald graduated from another university, he has always attended Baylor athletic events as an avid fan. Gerald was a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend to many.

He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Schroeder, Jr.; sister, Marcia Schroeder Chisholm and infant niece, Kerrie Rene Chisholm.

Gerald is survived by his mother, June Schroeder; brother, Timothy Schroeder and wife, Kathy Schroeder; and two nieces, Kimberly and Christina Schroeder.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to the American Heart Association and St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bellmead.
