Obituary for Ella Mae Cass

Ella Mae Cass, 87, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 7, 2010 in Plano. A memorial service will be held at Central Presbyterian Church in Waco at 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 10, 2001.

Mae was born November 8, 1922, to Paul Braxton Weathers and Pearl Edna Weathers in Waco. Mae was raised in Waco and graduated from Waco High School. .

Mae met the love of her life, Billie Joe Cass, in 1941. They were married in August of that year and spent 68 wonderful years together prior to his death in January, 2010. She was devoted to her husband and two daughters, and spending time with them was always her first priority.

Mae and Bill moved back to Waco after retirement and enjoyed many fun times with family and friends. While in Waco, she was an active member of the Garden Patch branch of the Waco Garden Club. She was also a member of Hamilton House, where she enjoyed weekly bridge games, luncheons, and style shows with friends.

Mae was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her brother, George Weathers.

She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Sue Cass and Paula Ann Hurst; grandchildren, Keeley Hennington and husband, Keith, Jennifer Davis, Billy Scott Buford and wife Heather, Patricia White and husband Chris; and great-grandchildren Jordan Myint, Colin White, Cass White, Leah Davis, Paige Hennington, Chloe Buford, Matthew Davis, Lauren Buford and Mia Buford.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be sent to Central Presbyterian Church, 9191 Woodway Drive, Waco, Texas 76712.
