Angelica  S.  Olvera
Angelica Silva Olvera, 53, of Waco, suffered a sudden and unexpected death on Saturday morning, December 17, 2016. She was born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico on April 12, 1963, and lived there throughout her childhood and into her early adult years. She attended college in San Luis Potosi, earning a degree in primary education. Angelica immigrated to the United States in the mid-1980s joining her family members already here, and she raised three daughters with her husband Victor in Waco.

Throughout her life, Angelica had a contagious joy and a deep love for all people. She never met a stranger and always welcomed everyone into her home with open arms and delicious food. She helped shape and mold the lives of her children as well as nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and siblings by pouring her life into each one constantly putting their needs in front of her own. Her love for others extended beyond her family. She served as a teacher in the Head Start of Waco, and at the nonprofit organization, AVANCE, where she mentored both children and staff. Many lives were touched by Angelica, and her legacy lives on through her family, her students, and her peers. Even in her untimely death, she gives life by being an organ donor. Angelica Silva Olvera…a true epitome of love.

She is survived by her loving husband Neofito Olvera, mother, Ysabel Castillo, daughters, Angie Lassitter and husband John, Aurora Olvera and husband Luis Amado, and Veronica Olvera, grandchildren, Jaslene Vences and Leylani Amador;siblings, Maria E. Thornblom, Ramiro Silva, Dorotea Silva, Jose Silva, Estela Jefferson, Eduardo Silva, Maria Blanco, Juan A. Silva, Jose E. Silva, Silvana Padmanabhan, Paula Harrykissoon and Martin A. Silva.

She is preceded in death, by her father Victor Silva and brother, Victor E. Silva.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Monday December 19, with Rosary at 7:00 pm, at OakCrest Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am, Tuesday December, 20, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Benjamin Magnaye as Celebrant, with burial to follow at Rosemond Cemetery

The family has requested that memorials be made to AVANCE, 3005 Edna Avenue, Waco, Texas


Angélica Olvera, 53, de WacoTX, sufrió una muerte repentina diciembre 16 y falleció el sábado 17 de diciembre a las 11:50 am.

Ella nació en San Luis Potosí abril 12 de 1963 y vivió ahi toda su niñez hasta que creció. Ella asistió a la universidad donde obtuvo su licenciatura en educación primaria. Angélica migró a los estados unidos en los 80's donde se unió a su familia que ya estaban ahí. Ella formó una familia y tuvo 3 hijas junto con su esposo Victor en Waco.

Durante toda su vida, ella tenía una alegría contagiosa y un gran amor profundo por la gente. Para ella no había extraños y ella siempre aceptaba a todo mundo con los brazos abiertos en su casa con comida deliciosa. Ella ayudó a formar y moldear la vida de sus hijas, sus sobrinos, sus nietos, sus hermanos y sus padres atraves de su tiempo y y poniendo sus necesidades sobre las de ella. Este amor por la gente se extendía más allá de su familia así como ella era una maestra en el programa de niños Head Start y en la organización sin fines de lucro Avance donde ella ayudaba a niños y personal. Muchas vidas fueron tocadas por Angélica y su legado vive por medio de su familia, sus estudiantes, sus compañeros y por medio de sus hígado y riñones donados después de su muerte. Ella era la manifestación más bella del amor.
