Obituary for Sharon Jo Baggett

Sharon Jo Baggett, 70, of Waco went to be with her heavenly Father Wednesday, August 24, 2016. Graveside services will be Saturday, August 27, at 1 pm, at Valley Mills Cemetery in Valley Mills, officiated by Ernie Christie. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm, Friday, August 26, at OakCrest Funeral Home.

Sharon was born October 25, 1945 in Waco to Gilbert and Betty Baggett. She worked at American Amicable Life and Texas Life Insurance Companies for many years before becoming disabled. Sharon loved music, movies, dogs, cooking and especially baking sweets. Her greatest attribute in life was her perseverance to endure the physical hardships she experienced from an early age through adulthood. Sharon handled every challenge with grace and dignity.

Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Gilbert; grandparents, Clarence and Birdie Baggett; grandmother, Pearl Kirkpatrick; and her beloved Chihuahua, Cheeky.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her mother, Betty; brother, Gary Baggett and wife, Linda; sisters, Vicki Farley, Twila Leshikar and husband, Larry, Deedra Baggett and partner, Amy Post; her aunt, Maynell Jones; nieces, Kim Tindell, Tara Kruger and Amanda Leshikar; and great nieces and nephew, Elizabeth, Marshall and Elaina.

Special thank you to Providence Hospice, Ridgecrest Retirement Center and Sharon’s special pal, Richard for the outstanding care provided.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation or to the American Diabetes Association.
