The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Thanh Trinh can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Dean of the Baptist Seminary

I preached the first worship service held by Baptists in the mountain city of Dalat. I had studied Vietnamese for just a few months. My sermon took 40 hours to prepare and 10 minutes to preach. When I invited anyone to accept Jesus, Mr. and Mrs. Thanh and their two children came forward, the first people to accept Jesus in Dalat with Baptists. When we organized the Vietnam Baptist Theological Seminary we invited Mr. Thanh to become the first Dean of the Seminary and Mrs. Thanh prepared delicious food every day for all of our students. She is a wonderful cook! Mr. Thanh played the accordian, among many other talents.

When I pastored a Chinese church in Cholon, Saigon, Mr. Thanh interpreted my sermons from Vietnamese into Chinese Cantonese language. He was my counselor, advisor, and precious friend through many years.
