Obituary for Rosa Lee Gillespie (Endsley)

Rosa Lee Gillespie, 97, of Waco, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13 at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd, Waco. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 pm prior to the service on Wednesday. A graveside service and burial will occur at a later date at Sunny Lane Funeral Home and Cemetery in Del City, OK.

Rosa was born January 8, 1919 in Childress, Texas to Pleasant and Florence Endsley. In 1934, She married Delbert Brown in Oklahoma City. Rosa worked and retired from US Air Force Civil Service as a Procurement Specialist after 38 years of service. After retirement, she stayed active with volunteer work. Rosa was a member of Meadowwood Baptist Church in Midwest City, OK until moving to Waco, Texas in 2012. She was also a resident of Regent Care Nursing Center in Woodway.

Rosa was preceded in death by her parents, husband and step-son, Jack M. Gillespie.

She leaves behind her children, Jerald Brown and wife, Pat of Norman, Ok, Michael Brown and wife, Sandy of Waco, TX and Daniel Brown and wife, Bonnie of Mt. Home, AR; step-daughter, Sherry Bowers of Atlanta, GA; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; and numerous step-great grandchildren.
