Obituary for Leonard Wayne Sims

Leonard “Wayne” Sims, 59, of Lacy Lakeview, Texas was called home Sunday, February 7, 2016.

He was born August 29, 1956 in Odessa, Texas to E.A. “Bud” Sims and Billie Sims. Both parents preceded him in death.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 39 years Arona; two brothers, Ronnie Sims and his wife, Kim of Gun Barrel City, Texas, Gary Sims of Odessa, Texas; three sisters, Cindy Howard and husband, Paul, Joann Woodruff, Karen Armendarez and Jaime, all of Odessa; many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Wayne grew up in Odessa and attended Odessa High. After marriage, he and his wife moved to Waco where he became a maintenance man at apartment complexes. He spent 5 years at Discount Vacuum and Appliance delivering and installing appliances, but he found a love for long haul driving, so he spent 10 years with Willis Shaw Express and the last 6 years with US Xpress.

He never met a stranger. He loved to fish and his family BBQs were a favorite pastime. He loved to laugh and be the reason you were laughing. All his nieces and nephews have a favorite memory of their Uncle Wayne.

We grew in love and made our marriage absolutely about one another. I will see you again my love. Love, Arona OXOX
