Obituary for Pauline Jobe (Brown)

Pauline Brown Jobe, 91, peacefully passed away Nov. 17, 2015 after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21 at Wortham Bend Cemetery behind Oak Grove Baptist Church in Wortham Bend. Visitation with the family will be Friday, Nov. 20 from 6-8 pm at OakCrest Funeral Home.

Pauline was born November 23, 1923 in Rock Creek, TX to John Henry Brown and Mary Elizabeth Garrett Brown and married Leslie “Harold” Jobe in 1939. After living in Waco for many years, she and Harold returned to Wortham Bend in 1973 where they worked and tended to the family farm located on the beautiful Brazos River.

Pauline shared her sweet spirit and contagious laughter with everyone she knew, and it was impossible not to love her. She touched so many lives by living a Christ-like life and by sharing His love with all of those around her. We are rejoicing that she is now home in His welcoming arms and would like to thank all of her caregivers at Ridgecrest for their amazing care, love, and patience, and at Bluebonnet Hospice for the comfort they provided her as well.

Pauline was preceded in death by her husband Leslie “Harold” Jobe, her parents, and all ten of her brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her daughter Elaine Jobe Yarbrough and husband, Danny; son Harold Dean Jobe and wife, Lois; grandchildren Cody Jaster and wife, Candace; Kelly Yarbrough Brunner and husband, Jacob; Casey Yarbrough, Larry Dean Jobe and wife, Angie; David Jobe and wife, Lori; nine great grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren, and many other friends and relatives who will cherish and celebrate her life for many years to come.
