Obituary for Charles E. Shelton

Charles was born June 1, 1931 in North Carolina, to Tennie and Chalmers Shelton, the first of their six children. He joined the Air Force and served in Korea, later also serving in the Navy Reserve. After his discharge, he worked in sales and at the VA Hospital for the rest of his career. He enjoyed gardening and fishing, one friend declaring that he could plant a stick and it would grow! Most of all, he loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren dearly. As long as he was able, he attended all of their many activities.

Surviving him are his wife Estelle; daughters, Shirley Harris, and Stacey Mocek and husband, Brian; grandchildren, Jonathon Shelton and family, Kimberley Garcia and husband, Michael, G. C. Harris and wife, Megan, Jeremy Mocek and Liz Kauffman, and Jordan Mocek. He also lived to enjoy great-grandchildren, Landon, Jaxson, Addy, and Jhett. Also surviving are his five younger siblings, Jack, Grace, Don, Marie, and James; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

The family would like to thank the staff at Providence Heart Clinic and Regent Care Center for their compassionate care.
