Obituary for Chris Gonzales

Chris Gonzales of Temple, formerly of Waco, died Sunday, June 28, 2015, at the age of 71. Memorial services will be 7:00 P.M. Friday July 3, 2015, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd., Waco, Texas, with Pastor Art Duarte officiating.

Mr. Gonzales was born October 24, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of the late Louis and Anita (Gayton) Gonzales. At an early age, he moved to the Waco area and attended school at Speegleville. In 1962, he married Patsy Zapata who preceded him in death October 13, 1999. For twenty-five years, Chris was employed by Equipment Depot. He served them as a truck driver until his retirement in 2010. In more recent months, he returned to Waco.

He was an avid Baylor sports fan, especially baseball. He also enjoyed playing electronic darts.
Also preceding him in death was a brother Felix Gonzales, his grandparents who reared him, Santiago and Josephine Gayton; and a granddaughter, Victoria Lopez.

Survivors include four daughters, Frances Andrade and husband Leon, Eva G. Estrada and husband Rafael, Lucy G. Muniz and husband Urbano, Rebecca Garcia and husband Angel all of Waco; a brother, Pete Gonzales of Temple; two half brothers, Bobby Flores, Johnny G. Flores and wife Betty all of Temple; two half sisters, Youlanda Acosta and husband George of Fort Worth, Irene Rosado of China Spring; eleven grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.

The entire Gonzales family expresses their sincere appreciation to Providence Hospice Place for their love and care for Chris.
