Wilma W. Johnson passed away peacefully at her Woodway home on February 19, 2023. Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.m. Thursday, February 23 at Whitehall Cemetery in Woodway with Rev. Kip Osborne officiating. Visitation will follow the service.
Wilma was born on February 2, 1931, to Mark S. and Beatrice Neal. She grew up in a family of 9 brothers and sisters in Rural Hamilton County. Wilma married Clifford Johnson and they began their journey throughout Texas while following his Oil Field job. Not long after settling in Waco in 1960, she began her career as a travel agent, and in 1973 founded and then managed Aladdin Travel for the next 25 years. Traveling the globe by train, plane, and ship let “two kids from the Leon River Valley “live their dreams.
Her faith in God was strong and she loved teaching her ladies’ Sunday school class for many years at Western Heights Baptist Church.
Wilma had a long, full life and now has gone to heaven to rejoin and rejoice with her beloved husband Clifford, and her daughters Sandi and Jennifer.
Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Johnson, and her daughters, Sandi Riley, and Jennifer Miller.
She is survived by her son, Jim Johnson, and wife, Connie of Woodway, and her grandchildren, Julie Everett and her husband, David; Bo Johnson and his wife, Eleeza; Jonathan Riley and his wife, Maria; Jeremy Miller and his wife, Kerianne and Clifford Miller – great-grandchildren, Alexis Everett, Caitlynn Everett, Berkeley Everett, Mia Johnson, Lake Johnson, Alaia Fernandez Riley, and Amaia Fernandez Riley. Also, sisters Nancy Schroyer, Clota Cates, and Ann Fogle, and many nieces and nephews
Pallbearers will be Julie Everett, Bo Johnson, Jonathan Riley, Jeremy Miller, Clifford Miller, Alexis Everett, and Caitlynn Everett.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Western Heights Baptist Church.
