Cherished Memories, Lasting Legacy
November 23, 1940 – January 29, 2026
Viyer “Bill” Salinas was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose life was defined by kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family. He passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to guide and inspire all who knew him.
Bill was born on November 23, 1940, in Nordheim, Texas, to Adan and Matildia Salinas. From an early age, he learned the values of hard work and integrity, which shaped the man he would become. On October 3,1963 Bill proudly answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Army. He dedicated himself fully to his service and was honorably discharged on September 3, 1965 with the rank of Sergeant, carrying with him a lifelong sense of discipline and pride.
In 1966 Bill met the love of his life, Clara Salinas. Their bond was one of devotion, respect, and enduring partnership. They were married on December 18, 1966 and together built a life centered on family. They were blessed with two loving children, whom Bill cherished deeply and worked tirelessly to provide for and protect.
Bill built a long and respected career in bridge construction, a field that reflected both his strong work ethic and his commitment to building things that last. Through years of dedication, he rose to the position of Superintendent and retired in 2014 after decades of service.
Though his life was not without hardship, Bill faced every challenge with courage, compassion, and resilience. Even in difficult moments, he found reasons to laugh, to hope, and to lift the spirits of those around him.
Above all else, Bill was a family man. He took great pride in being a husband, father, and grandfather, and his love for his family was evident in everything he did. His guidance and warmth will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever remain a guiding light to all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Bill’s legacy lives on through the lives he touched, the family he loved, and the values he instilled. He will be remembered not only for the years he lived, but for the love he gave and the example he set.
