Thomas E. King

Tom King, age 58, of China Spring passed away in his sleep at Lake Shore Village Nursing Home on July 2, 2025. Tom will lie in state during the hours of 9:00 A.M.-3:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at OakCrest Funeral Home chapel, 4520 Bosque Blvd., Waco, TX. to accept visiting friends and family during this time. Graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at Patrick Cemetery, China Spring, TX, with Rev. Kody Alvarez officiating.

Tom was born June 2, 1967 in Stillwater, OK. To Richard and Joyce King. Richard passed away one month after Tom’s birth and the family then moved to Valley Mills, TX. Tom graduated high school in Waco where his mother, Joyce, was a teacher.

He was very active in the Special Olympics, competing in every event offered. Tom was also a huge fan of football where he became known at the China Spring football games as “The #1 Cougar Fan”, running onto the field with the team and cheering the team on with the cheerleaders.

Tom was employed with A.A.F.E.S., where he worked for twenty-four years and almost never took a day off for sickness. He knew everyone even the Generals and they too, loved him. Tom was always kind to everyone and easily made friends.

Survivors include; Robert King, James King, Randy King, Ridge King, Penny Wortham and Danny Wortham.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Lakeshore Village Nursing Home for providing excellent care as well as Baylor Scott & White Hospice with their caring compassion with his final care.
