Thelma C. Bettinger, 90, of Waco, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2012 at her residence. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Waco by Msgr. Mark Deering.
Thelma was born February 28, 1922 in Waco to Joe and Bessie Bolfing, and she retired as a beautician. She enjoyed making quilts for preemie babies at Providence Hospital. She also liked to garden and work in her yard. She was a founding member of St. Louis Catholic Church. Her family will always remember her as a loving wife and mother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Ray Bettinger, and a granddaughter, Kimbra Layne Rice.
She is survived by two sons, Donald Bettinger and wife, Nancy Dianne, and Dr. Jerry Bettinger and wife, Laura; two daughters, Nancy Rice and husband, Richard and Patty Guthrie; sister, Bettie Jo Murdock; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to St. Louis Catholic School, 2208 N. 23rd Street, Waco, TX 76708.
