Teófilo Carreón

Teofilo Carreon, 83, of Gilmer, TX, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 20, 2025 in Gilmer, TX.

Visitation will be 5-8pm on Sunday, May 25, 2025 at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd in Waco. Funeral Service will be held at 12pm on Monday, May 26, 2025 also at OakCrest with Pastor Dervys Morales officiating.

Teofilo was born in Cerritos, SLP Mexico to Felipe Carreon and Maurina Resendiz on January 8, 1942.

He migrated to Waco at the age of 36 and worked at M. Lipsitz & Co for 25 years. Teofilo enjoyed playing pool and participated in tournaments with his friends and beloved brother Jose Cleofas Carreon. He was also an avid fisherman and hunter throughout his life.

Teofilo is preceded in death by his parents, Felipe Carreon and Maurina Resendiz; brother, Porfirio Carreon; sisters, Agapita Carreon and Marina Perez; mother of his children, Eusebia Flores Espino; children, David, Gabriela and Hortencia Carreon; and grandchildren, Eric and Alfredo Carreon.

Teofilo is survived by his brothers, Trinidad Carreon, Atanacio Carreon, Jose Cleofas Carreon and wife Guadalupe, and Juan Carreon and wife Rosario; sister, Natalia Carreon; children, Lucia, Felipe, Sofia, Elisa, Ana and Manuel; 39 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to Natalia Carreon and family Alicia, Janie, Vanessa, Evelyn, Lupita. Thank you all for the unconditional love and caring support that you gave Teofilo in his final days of life.

Teófilo Carreón, de 83 años, residente de Gilmer, TX, falleció pacíficamente rodeado de su familia el 20 de mayo de 2025 en Gilmer, Texas.

El velatorio se realizará de 5 a 8 p. m. el domingo 25 de mayo de 2025 en la Funeraria OakCrest, ubicada en 4520 Bosque Blvd., Waco. El servicio fúnebre se llevará a cabo a las 12 p. m. el lunes 26 de mayo de 2025, también en OakCrest, oficiado por el pastor Dervys Morales.

Teófilo nació en Cerritos, SLP, México, hijo de Felipe Carreón y Maurina Reséndiz, el 8 de enero de 1942.

Emigró a Waco a los 36 años y trabajó en M. Lipsitz & Co. durante 25 años. Teófilo disfrutaba jugando al billar y participaba en torneos con sus amigos y su querido hermano José Cleofás Carreón. También fue un ávido pescador y cazador durante toda su vida.

A Teófilo le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, Felipe Carreón y Maurina Reséndiz; hermano, Porfirio Carreón; hermanas, Agapita Carreón y Marina Pérez; madre de sus hijos, Eusebia Flores Espino; hijos, David, Gabriela y Hortencia Carreón; y nietos, Eric y Alfredo Carreón.

A Teófilo le sobreviven sus hermanos, Trinidad Carreón, Atanacio Carreón, José Cleofas Carreón y su esposa Guadalupe, y Juan Carreón y su esposa Rosario; hermana, Natalia Carreón; sus hijos, Lucía, Felipe, Sofía, Elisa, Ana y Manuel; 39 nietos; 38 bisnietos; y numerosos sobrinos y sobrinas.

Un agradecimiento especial a Natalia Carreón y familia Alicia, Janie, Vanessa, Evelyn, Lupita. Gracias a todos por el amor incondicional y el apoyo cariñoso que le brindaron a Teófilo en sus últimos días de vida.
