Sylvia Navarro, 67, of Waco, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026. Born on November 6, 1958, she was the daughter of Betty Erebia and Marcilio Cavazos, Sr.
She was A longtime resident of Waco, Texas. Sylvia dedicated over 25 years of service to Baylor University, where she was well known for excellent work ethics. Sylvia was a woman of deep faith and devoted her life to Christ unconditionally. Those who knew her best knew she was a woman who gave you her true heart. In her spare time her greatest joy was spending time with her family and most of all her grandchildren.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and is survived by her children: Lorenzo Sardaneta, Leonardo Sardaneta, Miranda Navarro, and Richard Guardiola.
She will be deeply missed by her siblings: brother Joe Erebia, sister Anita Medina, and brother Guadalupe Cavazos.
Her memory will be cherished by her grandchildren: Noah Garza, Lea Sardaneta, Loren Sardaneta, Carlos Sardaneta, Juan Manual Garcia, Cataleya Sardaneta, Cristian Sardaneta, and Ava Renee Garcia.
She also leaves behind her beloved nieces and nephews: Sandra Monica Baker, Raymond Michael Gutierrez, Jr., Romiah Rosario and many more.
A visitation for Sylvia will be from 9-10am on Tuesday, January 13th at OakCrest Funeral Home in Waco, Texas with the Funeral Service starting at 10am. Burial will follow the service at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco, Texas.
Pallbearers are Lorenzo Sardaneta, Leonardo Sardaneta, Juan Garcia, Richard Guardiola, Joe Erebia, and Raymond Michael Gutierrez, III.
