Ruth Harrell

Zelma Ruth Harrell, age 91, passed away in Waco, Texas on April 21st, 2026.

She was born April 11, 1935 in Leroy, Texas to Willie Ann and Herbert Taylor.

Ruth attended Baylor University. She worked as a laboratory technician and nurse. She attended the Leroy Baptist church for many years. After retiring, she lived with her daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Edwin Harrell; her daughter, Tense Ann Williams; and her son, Joseph Harrell.

Zelma is survived by her grandchildren, Russell B. Williams, Trevor E. Williams, and Kara Tensey Williams; her son-in-law, Russell C. Williams; and her great-granddaughter, Casey Rose Williams.

Visitation will be held at OakCrest Funeral Home from 10-11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 1st. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Afterwards, a graveside service will take place at Rosemound Cemetery in Waco, Texas.
