Russell Dean Feight was a force. A man who loved big, lived fully, and cared deeply for those around him. His presence was larger than life, his energy magnetic, and his heart endlessly generous. Russell had a rare gift for making people feel safe, seen, and cherished, offering solitude and serenity to anyone who needed it. His laughter could fill a room, his humor could brighten the darkest day, and his loyalty was unwavering… the kind you only find once in a lifetime.
We gather to remember and celebrate Russell, 47, of Waco, who passed unexpectedly on August 10, 2025. Services will be held at Renew Church (6509 Bosque Blvd) on August 17, 2025, at 3 pm, with visitation beginning at 2 pm. Pastor Wayne Williams will officiate, and burial will follow at Bosqueville Cemetery. All are welcome to join a celebration of life afterwards at Lake Waco Country Club.
Born September 30, 1977, in Temple, Texas, to father, Raymond Feight, Sr. and mother, Connie Feight. His birth brought pure joy as his four siblings eagerly welcomed their baby brother, filling the home with love and excitement. Quickly after graduating high school, he followed in his father and brother’s footsteps learning to be a master craftsman in the construction and restoration business, which led him to becoming an entrepreneur, owning and operating Alpha Property Maintenance Group. In 2000, he met the love of his life, Jenna Feight, and together they built a beautiful story: years of traveling the world, raising their three boys, and opening their home to friends and family. For seventeen inseparable years, they shared countless memories. He was passionate about coaching Chasyn and Canon’s soccer teams, which led to many championship games, along with mentoring Zachary in the construction and restoration business.
Russell’s passions were as varied as they were vibrant. His greatest love was being a musician. He was also an artist and painter with a natural freehand, and a collector of treasures and memorabilia that told stories. But his favorite role by far was being a husband, father, and grandfather to his princess. He was vivacious, full of energy and life, bringing boundless joy and laughter wherever he went. Whether you were with Russell working, fishing, hunting, swimming in his cherished pool, wherever you were with him, his hilarious sense of humor could brighten the darkest days, and his loving nature made everyone feel valued and appreciated.
With his band brothers Rance Northern, Storm Simpson, and Christopher William, he formed the band Avenue Rage, spending many nights taking the stage at The Backyard as lead singer and belting out songs with the same passion he brought to every part of his life. It was on stage with his band brothers where you could truly see Russell come to life; he was a powerhouse of voice, presence, and passion that owned the room. Russell never met a stranger; he had a gift for forging meaningful connections with people from all walks of life. Whether through music, work, or a chance meeting, he left people feeling like they’d known him for years.
Russell absolutely loved his whole family. He cherished the many family gatherings throughout the years of kickball, football, basketball, family games, eating his favorite meal (his mom’s famous turkey and dressing) while watching the Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day. Those moments filled with joy, good-natured rivalry, and togetherness remained amongst his most treasured memories. He never missed an opportunity to show up for his nieces and nephews, celebrating every milestone with pride and love.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, two uncles, and his maternal grandfather.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Jenna Feight; sons, Zachary Feight (wife Kailey), Chasyn Feight, and Canon Feight; granddaughter, Kendyll Bree Feight; parents, Raymond Feight, Sr. and Connie Feight; siblings, Ray Feight, Jr. (wife Monica Feight), Robert Feight, Julie Feight, and Joy (husband Lin Elliott); and many extended family members and friends who will forever feel his absence.
Pallbearers will be Ray Feight, Jr., Robert Feight, Rance Northern, Storm Simpson, Christopher William, and Scott Cooper.
In closing, Russell would want everyone to know he loves you all. The family thanks you deeply for being here, and for the love you’ve shown throughout his life. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and genuine human connection. His presence was a gift to us all, and though he is deeply missed, the memories of his vivacious spirit and loving heart will live on forever in every life he touched.
