Robert "Bob" Fulwiler, 100, of Waco, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2008 in a local care center.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at Oakwood Cemetery with Dr. Jimmie Johnson officiating.
Robert was born August 17, 1907 in Belton to John and Louise Fulwiler. He was a graduate of Waco High School and attended the University of Texas and Baylor University. He married Maurice Jones of Waco in 1938. He was a Captain in the Waco Police Department where he served as head of communications. During WWII, he was a Major in the US Army Air Corp. stationed in India and China where he served as a communications officer.
After his retirement from the Waco Police Department, Captain Fulwiler and his wife owned and operated L&M Electronics for many years.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and his sister, Louise Bassel.
He is survived by his daughter and her husband, Linda and Towne Adams; grandsons, Michael and wife, Melissa, Rob and wife, Kim and Scott; great-grandchildren, Emily, Luke, Audrey, Evan and Abby; niece, Nancy Bassel; nephews, Byron Bassel and Margaret, Peter Gibson and wife, Flossie; special cousin, Claudia and husband Bill Clark; and housekeeper, Gina Schwinn.
Memorials may be made to any animal rescue group or to the Waco Public Library.
