Reymundo "Chemo" Lopez

Reymundo “Chemo” Lopez was born January 6, 1937 to Anselmo Lopez and Santos Vicinais in Waco, Texas.

Chemo worked in maintenance for many years at J.M. Woods and Waco Apparel. After his time there, he worked for Robinson Primary School and South Bosque Elementary. He made many lifelong friends through his years of employment.

The biggest enjoyment in his life was spending time with his family and visiting with numerous family members and friends. Chemo spent his early years as a musician playing the accordion and guitar; he continued his love of music by listening to his favorite band, Los Unicos De Mel Villarreal and his large CD collection regularly. He really enjoyed years of attending softball games and traveling to tournaments. Chemo loved watching sports, especially boxing and his Dallas Cowboys.

Chemo was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Julian Lopez; and other siblings early in life.

He is survived by his best friend and the love of his life for 63 years, his wife Gracie Lopez; sons, Victor Lopez and Danny Lopez and his wife Christina; grandchildren, Anthony Lopez, Matthew Lopez, Sidney Lopez, and Gabriel Lopez; brother, Richard Lopez and his partner Anne Marie; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.

Pallbearers are Kenneth Renner, Mark Renner, Jimmy Chavez, Ernest Chavez, Marcos Ibanez, David Huerta, Auturo Alonzo, and Jose Melendez. Honorary Pallbearers are Manuel Chavez and Martin Chavez.

The family would like to thank all family and friends that have reached out and to the doctors and nurses at Baylor Scott and White-Hillcrest for their care and compassion.
