Rebecca Jane Weatherly

Rebecca Jane Weatherly, 74, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026. Born on August 14, 1951, in Lubbock, Texas, to Bill and Ruth Kennedy, Becky spent her life deeply rooted in Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Ruth Kennedy, and by her beloved husband, Chris Weatherly, who passed away on September 5, 2014.

A graduate of the University of Texas, Becky carried a rare combination of strength, warmth, and wit. She and Chris shared a marriage marked by devotion to Christ and a deep commitment to each other and to discipling others. Together, they walked closely with countless couples, pouring wisdom, prayer, and encouragement into marriages and families that will continue to bear fruit for generations.

Becky’s greatest calling and deepest joy was her family. She created a home that was full of laughter, hospitality, worship, and open doors. She devoted herself to the profoundly purposeful work of homeschooling her children, shaping their education, their character and their faith. She is survived by her six children and their spouses: Austin and Sarah Weatherly, Kaleigh and Josh Chapa, Noah and Natalie Weatherly, Jacob and Whitney Weatherly, Chris and Kaitlyn Weatherly, and Timmy Weatherly. Her legacy continues through her 17 treasured grandchildren, Ava, Liam, Clara, Jonah, Lilly, Lincoln, Sully, Gracie, Mabel, Ben, Emmett, Zuzu, Bear, Rowan, Blakely, Jane and Harper - each of whom she adored deeply and prayed for faithfully. She is also survived by her sister, Judy Schroeder, and her brother, Tim Kennedy and sister-in-law, Becky Kennedy.

A woman of profound and unwavering faith, Becky was deeply involved at Antioch in Waco throughout her adult life. She mentored numerous women and young families and worshipped Jesus any chance she had. She was prayerful and bold in her faith, yet tender and attentive in her care for others. Becky had a spunky sense of humor and was always down for a good time. She was selfless to her core, constantly thinking of how to love, serve, and encourage those around her.

Becky will be remembered for her laughter, her hospitality, her fierce devotion to her husband and children, and her wholehearted love for Jesus. She made people feel seen, welcomed, and deeply valued. Her life was marked by joy, generosity, and a faith that was truly lived out loud.

While her family grieves her absence, they rejoice in knowing she is now reunited with her husband, Chris and worshipping her Savior face to face.

Visitation will be held Sunday, February 15th from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at OakCrest Funeral Home. Funeral service will take place Monday, February 16th at 11:30 a.m. at Antioch Community Church in Waco, with burial to follow at approximately 1:00 p.m.
