“Let me tell you somethin’...” On Thursday, June 8th, Randall “Randy” Dean
McGee, 71, of Waco, TX, passed away peacefully at his home after a brief battle with
lung cancer.
Born in Waco on January 5, 1952, Randy was the first of Walter and
Glenda McGee’s five children. He was an Oh-5’r, an original Bellmead cowboy. As a
child, he worked at his parents’ horse stables at Cameron Park and helped his daddy
build houses, which led to his lifelong career in construction.
Randy loved fishing and did so every chance he got. He could smoke a mean brisket, and you could count on him to have one cooking every Sunday. Randy had a big, generous heart; he loved his family fiercely and never met a stranger (but if he didn’t like you, you definitely knew it).
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Glenda McGee.
Randy is survived by his beloved wife, Lesia McGee, of Waco, to whom he
was married for 26 years; his children: Ashley McGee (Chaz) of Naples, FL, Randy
McGee (Nicole) of Waco, Heath McGee (Chyenne) of Waco, Amanda Stagno (Jason) of
Hedgesville, WV, Charles Martin, Jr. (Odette) of Groveland, FL, and Jeremy Martin
(Anne) of Pasadena, MD; his 18 grandchildren; his one great-grandchild; his siblings;
his niece and nephews; and countless dear friends.
A memorial for Randy will be held Sunday, June 18th, at 2:00 pm at Grace
Temple Baptist Church on 3825 Bosque Blvd in Waco. All friends and family are
welcome. In lieu of flowers, the family is collecting donations to give as a love offering to
Grace Temple Baptist.
