Paul Raymond Wurzbach

Paul Raymond Wurzbach, 56, passed away on August 13, 2026, in Waco, Texas. He entered the world on July 28, 1970, in San Jose, California, born to George R. Wurzbach and Kaye J. (Moore) Wurzbach.

Paul grew up in the Waco area, attending Midway ISD and graduating with the class of 1988. From a young age, he possessed a deep love for sports and excelled as a talented baseball player. He was a fiercely loyal UT fan, sharing countless unforgettable moments cheering on the Longhorns at football games alongside his dad and sister. An outdoorsman at heart, Paul felt right at home when bow hunting or fishing.

To know Paul was to receive a daily dose of joy. He was a super friendly guy who always greeted everyone with a massive smile, a genuine word of praise, and heartfelt well wishes. As a Christian, Paul walked through life with an open heart, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

He channeled his creativity and dedication into his career as a professional painter. Paul took immense pride in his craftsmanship, whether he was refreshing a small kitchen or transforming a large commercial building. In a meaningful tribute to his lifelong skill, his final project was painting the chapel at OakCrest Funeral Home—a flawless and beautiful job.

Paul will be remembered fondly by all who knew his generous spirit and warm heart. He is survived by his beloved mother, Kaye Wurzbach of Hewitt; his sisters, Amy Wurzbach, and Anna-Laurie Rowell and her husband Dayne; his three nephews, Spencer Rowell, Landon Rowell and his wife Kelsie, and Preston Rowell and his wife Baylee; and his precious great-niece, Allison Rowell. He was preceded in death by his father, George Wurzbach.

Friends, extended family, and all whose lives were touched by Paul’s warmth are welcome to gather and celebrate his memory on Friday, August 21, 2026 at OakCrest Funeral Home from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
