Ollie Ray Lampert

Ollie Lampert was born in Mooreville, TX on March 12, 1932 and died in Waco, TX on April 7, 2017.

He attended school in Mooreville and graduated from Chilton High School. Ollie worked for William Cameron Co/Certainteed until his retirement in 1987.

He attended Emmanuel Baptist Church for many years and has been a member of Highland Baptist since the early 80's where he served as a deacon until his death. He was saved as a child and served the Lord in many capacities over the years.

He LOVED music!! While never having any formal music training he played by ear and there was nothing more he liked than making music! The banjo and guitar were his favorite instrument of choice and he was a member of the "Banjo Buddies" ... a group of friends who love making music together and have entertained many people in various venues in the Waco area over the last few years.

Over the years he has also been a part of the Barbershop Quartet Group (SPEBSQSA) and the Baylor Senior Adult Choir. He also sang in the sanctuary choir at Highland until his health would no longer allow.

He also enjoyed a good Friday afternoon game of 42 with a group of friends and loved having people visit him!

Ollie is preceded in death by his wife, Henrietta in 1971. Also, his parents Fred and Helen Lampert, brother and sister-in-law, Thomas Lee Lampert and Bonnie; wife, Dorothy Lampert in 2012, and a great-grandson, Brody Havins in 2016.

He is survived by his three children, daughter Shirley Rich of Georgetown, son Steven Lampert and wife Mary, son Stuart Lampert and wife Charabe; five grandchildren, Brandon Rich and wife Lauren, Kelly Havins and husband David, Alison Lampert, Ethan Lampert and Sophia Lampert; and two great grandchildren.
