Miriam Knight

Miriam Raye Knight, 88, of Waco, passed away October 21, 2013 at Wesley Woods Care Center. Services will be held Monday October 28 at 1:00 PM at Oakcrest Funeral Home with graveside at Rosemound Cemetery in Waco. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday, October 27 at OakCrest FuneralHome, 4520 Bosque Blvd Waco, TX.

Mrs. Knight was born September 12, 1925 in Carpenters Bluff, Texas to Revy and Christina Faubion. She grew up near Prairie Chapel, attended Crawford schools and graduated from LaVega High School. She married W.T. Knight of Speegleville on January 18, 1947 and lived most of her life in the Waco area.

Raye loved poetry, literature and music. She enjoyed playing her guitar and singing with her family. She loved the Bible and its hope of living forever on a paradise earth without sickness and death. She spent many years telling others of this hope. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses 60 years ago and remained active in her faith until her battle with Alzheimers. She will be remembered as a kind, compassionate and loving wife, mother, Nana, sister and friend.

She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Jennifer Lucille, her beloved husband of 52 years, W.T. Knight, two sisters Ruth Lynch and Lucille Kimbrough, four brothers Henry, Horris, Albert and Norris Faubion.

She is survived by sister, Doris Fugate of Waco; son, Michael Knight of Waco; daughters, Doris Inman of Waco, and Carla Swanson of Anchorage, Alaska; 13 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and many loved nieces, nephews and friends.
