Mary Frances Finkenbiner

Mary Frances Montgomery-Finkenbiner passed away in her home at 9:00 pm on Saturday, April 5, 2025. The service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, April 14, 2025 at OakCrest Funeral Home with visitation for family and friends from 1:00 - 2:00 pm. Burial will be at 11:30 am on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at the DFW National Cemetery (the procession will form in Lane 3).

Mary was born in Unionville, Missouri on April 1, 1934. She was the daughter of George D. Montgomery and Hazel Alvira Montgomery.

After graduating from high school in May of 1952, Mary worked for Hallmark Greeting Cards as a stencil cutter.

Mary joined the U.S. Army in 1954. After basic training at Fort Lee, Virginia she was stationed at Fort Sam in Houston, Texas where she trained to become a medic. She was discharged from the Army in July of 1955.

On March 5, 1955 while stationed in Fort Mead, Maryland, Mary met and married Richard Finkenbiner. They had three children: Tracey Finkenbiner-Coleman, Richard R. Finkenbiner, and Lee Finkenbiner.

In 1978 Mary completed her LVN nursing school and started working at Wichita Falls General Hospital in Wichita Falls, Texas.

In 1979 Mary moved to Waco, Texas where she worked at Hillcrest Baptist Hospital for 20 years. She retired in May of 1999.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Finkenbiner and her granddaughter, Kimberly Marie Finkenbiner.

She is survived by her three children, Tracey Finkenbiner-Coleman and her husband Roger, Richad R. Finkenbiner, and Lee Finkenbiner and his wife Lisa; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Coleman-Roller, James Coleman, Brittany Finkenbiner-Henkel, Bryan Finkenbiner, Melissa Finkenbiner, Samantha Finkenbiner, Christina Finkenbiner, and Michael Alan Finkenbiner; as well as nine great grandchildren.
