Marco A. Martinez

Marco Antonio Martinez, 52, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 13, 2026, after a tumultuous battle with cancer. He was born in Chicago, Illinois to Jaime and Maria Martinez. From his home life, he developed many important values, such as diligence, a strong work ethic, and compassion—traits that would come to define him.

Despite being born in Chicago, Marco moved to Texas at a young age, where he built the foundation of his life. He earned his GED through Waco High School and later obtained his Commercial Driver's License (CDL) from a trucking school. Throughout the area, Marco became well known for his unforgettable personality. His warmth, humor, and presence left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Marco was always a hardworking and determined individual. He took pride in everything he did and was never afraid to give his full effort. Throughout his life, he worked in many different industries, always striving to grow and create better opportunities for himself and his family.

One of his first jobs was as a server at Pancho's. Never one to stay in one place for long, Marco was always looking toward the next opportunity. He went on to work at a paper mill before joining Royal Moulding. From there, his career took him to Dr Pepper, Greg May Honda, Chevy of West, Fun Town RV, and eventually LSP Logistics, where he worked as a truck driver. His time at LSP Logistics marked the end of working for someone else. After years of dedication, perseverance, and hard work, Marco finally achieved his lifelong dream of becoming a business owner by opening INK FLO Tattoo. To Marco, INK FLO Tattoo was much more than a business—it was a reflection of who he was and the kind of environment he believed people deserved. He took pride in doing things differently, creating a professional, welcoming atmosphere where both artists and clients felt respected. Through his vision, he built a place that reflected his values, his work ethic, and his commitment to excellence.

Marco was born into the Catholic faith, but during the last decade of his life, nothing was more important to him than his personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He wholeheartedly embraced his Christian faith and walked faithfully with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Marco found great joy in listening to the Bible and hearing the stories of God's love and faithfulness. Every Easter, he looked forward to gathering his family together, preparing an incredible meal, and sharing his faith by having The Bible or The Chosen playing on the tv for everyone to enjoy. These moments reflected both his love for his family and his desire to keep Christ at the center of their time together. Although Marco was an active man, he especially enjoyed gardening. His greatest pride was his beautiful rose garden, which he delighted in sharing with anyone who visited. He also enjoyed working out, finding it to be a peaceful way to clear his mind and recharge. Above all else, Marco treasured spending time with the people he loved. His greatest happiness came from being surrounded by family and friends, creating memories that will be cherished for years to come.

Marco had a larger-than-life personality. One moment, he could be serious and ready to debate until the sun came up; the next, he could spend the whole night joking around and making everyone laugh. Even when he was tough from time to time, it always came from a place of love. He believed in bringing out the best in people and wanted to see everyone become the best version of themselves. What stood out even more than his personality was the size of his heart and his incredible generosity. He always put others before himself. Even during the last few months of his life, while he was in the hospital, his first concern was never for himself—it was always to ask how everyone else was doing. That selflessness and compassion defined who Marco was and are the qualities so many will remember most.

One thing I believe everyone should know about Marco is how deeply he cared for his community and for those in need. Whether he was delivering cases of water to nursing homes during freezing weather or buying as many turkeys as he could to help families in need, he always found ways to give back. During these difficult times, we ask that you keep our brothers and sisters in mind. None of us are alone, and we always have the ability to be there for one another. Choose kindness—not to bring light into your own life, but to bring light to those who are wading through darkness. Marco would want us to remember the good times, the great advice, and the love he shared with everyone who took the time to sit, talk, and truly know him. His generosity, compassion, and spirit will continue to live on in the lives he touched.

Marco Antonio Martinez is survived by his devoted wife of seven years, Misti Dawn Martinez; loving children, Victor Rene Martinez, Erik Alan Martinez, Luke Alexander Martinez, Ivan Ramses Martinez, and Romance Elizabeth Martinez; and cherished grandchildren, Antonio Alexander Martinez and Isaiah Cruz Martinez.
