On the evening of January 5, 2024, Josie Reinke slipped away, much as she had in life, softly and quietly. Services will be 11:00 A.M., Thursday, January 18, 2024, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Waco with Father Joe Geleney as celebrant with Deacon Jim Fitzpatrick assisting. Visitation will be at 10:00 A.M., Rosary at 10:30 A.M. Following funeral mass, internment will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Waco.
Josie was born May 27, 1931, to Joseph Karl and Mary Antonette Slovak, the fifth of six girls. She attended Sacred Heart Academy and graduated from Waco Tech High School. She then began working for Texas Power & Light and retired after many years. She met her husband, Her Reinke, there and they were married in My, 1955, a marriage that lasted until his death in January 1995. As he was an avid golfer, they took many trips all over the country, including Hawaii and the Caribbean and she went with him to many Pro-Am Golf tournaments in which he participated.
She was active in St. Mary’s Ladies Guild and the Madonna Group.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; and sisters, Mary Anderson and husband, Louis, and Angela Hoffman and husband, Clarence; brothers-in-law, Truett Lindsey and Joe Kelly.
Survivors include sisters, Theresa Lindsey, Christine Kelly and Genny Dulock and husband, Fred, along with many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be nephews, Tom and Stephen Lindsey, Alan Hoffman, Bryan and Scott Dulock, and great-Nephew, Kris Kuehl.
