Jesus Salcedo, 83, of Waco, Texas, passed away October 24, 2023, at 3:45am where he passed peacefully with his daughter Rebecca and grandson Augustine by his side.
The visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, from 6-8pm at OakCrest Funeral Home. The service will be Thursday, November 2, 2023, at 11am also at OakCrest. A burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Jesus was born in Waco, Texas to Juan Salcedo and Margarite Varela on January 28, 1940. He grew up in Houston but returned back to Waco when he was 19 years old. He met Virginia Monrial, the love of his life, at her mother’s establishment. He was married to his “Pigeon” for 50 years. Together they enjoyed listening to music, dancing, and spending time with their family.
He was a roofer for 46 years at Brazos Roofing and cherished the friendships he created with his coworkers. He retired in 2013. Jesus enjoyed fishing and watching the Baylor Bears, Houston Astros and the Dallas Cowboys with his family. Jesus also enjoyed watching Western Movies.
Left to cherish his memories are his children, Rebecca Ramirez, Ernest Reyes, Sam Reyes, Edward Reyes, and Jesse Reyes,Jr.,and wife, Sarah; along with thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Michael Reyes, Edward Reyes, Jr., Augustine Jesus Ramirez, Tyler Clay, Sr., Aleko
Ramirez, Jesse Reyes, Jr., Sam Reyes, and Augustine Ramirez. Honorary pallbearers are Tyler Clay, Jr., Akeirrion Ramirez, Kamarion Ramirez, and Orlando Ramirez.
