Jesse was born on July 28, 1956 in Waco, TX to Francisco C. and Juanita Herrera. He loved to travel and to take road trips with his family whether it was to Dallas, Houston or El Paso, it was always a great experience. He had two automotive shops doing body work and mechanic work. Being a mechanic for over 40 years, Jesse also worked as a truck driver for Oak Farms, Sanderson Farms, Knife River and other trucking companies. He also worked security with Salinas Security and Hawk Security.

He was a huge fan of the Green Bay Packers watching every game he could. Jesse and his brother, Frank, who lives in El Paso, would always be on the phone enjoying the game together. He loved being outside, was always on the move, loved doing yardwork and anything he could do to be outside-he was doing it. He also enjoyed working on his truck and listening to music.

In December of 1994, he married his beautiful wife, Barbara. Together they had three children adding to their blended family.

Jesse was an amazing husband, dad, brother, uncle, and friend to many. Helping when he could, anytime he was told he couldn’t do something, he would always say, “watch me”.

He is survived by his lovely wife, Barbara; children, Edward Herrera, Jesse Herrera, Jr., and wife, Marisol, Juanita Herrera, Ramon Herrera and wife, Kristine, Ariel Herrera and boyfriend, Eric, Frank Melendez and wife, Maria, Mary Herrera and husband, Gilbert, Connie Nava and husband, Lorenzo; stepchildren, Christina Palacios and husband, Eddie, Johnny Jr. Melendez and wife, Mayra, Rachael Melendez, and Matilda Melendez; brothers, Frank Sandoval, Joseph Sandoval, Charlie Sandoval, Lino Melendez, Johnny Melendez and Albert Melendez; sisters, Mary Lou Melendez, Lupe Melendez, and Estella Ortiz; 45 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
