Janice Nemmer

Janice Nemmer, 78, of Waco, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Services will be at 1pm, Monday August 4, 2025 at St. Louis Catholic Church.

Janice was born July 17, 1947 in Waco, TX to James “Jimmy” and Mae Breedlove. On August 26, 1965, she married the love of her life, Joe Nemmer. They quickly started their family and had 2 children, Jody and Melissa. Janice poured her heart into creating a warm, welcoming home. She found her greatest joy and purpose in being a mother and Mimi, roles she cherished deeply, fulfilling them with grace, dedication, and unwavering love. She found community in St. Louis parish and school, and Reicher High School, where she was actively involved during both her children's and grandchildren's time throughout. Her support and sacrifice helped lay the foundation for Nemmer Electric, a dream shared with her husband and nurtured through her devotion at home.

She had a true gift for celebration and never needed an excuse to throw a party. Family and friends will forever cherish the memories made around her table and under her roof- no one threw a party like Janice.

Even after her diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis 20 years ago, she remained optimistic and vibrant, choosing to continue living life to its fullest every day. She is an inspiration to many.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years and her parents.

Survivors include her son, Jody; daughter, Melissa; and granddaughters, Analysa Nemmer, Maelyn Colling, and Charley Brewton.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Hollingsworth, George Lindsey, Greg Holland, Terri Smith, Kenny Smith, Dawson Colling, AJ Morales, and Frich Joanis.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Fransisca, Carla, Elisabeth, and Rachel, who took special care of her while she remained at home; as well as her nurse Hillary and all the staff at St. Catherines and the Providence hospice team that cared for her.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bishop Louis Reicher, 2102 N 23rd St, Waco, TX 76708 or Fuzzy Friends Rescue, 6321 Airport Rd, Waco TX 76708.
