Jakob Nathaniel Xavier Salinas

Senior Airman Jakob Nathaniel Xavier Salinas passed away in Charleston, South Carolina on July 4, 2026, at the age of 23.

Jakob was born on August 9, 2002 to Marlana and Chris Salinas. From the time he was a little boy, he dreamed of serving in the United States Air Force and he proudly made that dream a reality. He attended Waco High School before answering the call to serve his country in the United States Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, David R. Becerra and Mary Ramos, and his paternal grandmother, Nellie Salinas.

Jakob is survived by his parents, Marlana and Chris Salinas; his wife, Melani Salinas; his brothers, Christopher Salinas (Melissa), Ethan Salinas, and Andrew Macias; his nephew, Liam; his paternal grandfather, Daniel Salinas; his uncles, JD Salinas (Megan) and Joe Becerra (Ginger); his aunts, Vanessa Salinas and Vera Castillo (Jose); several cousins; and his beloved dog, Leo.

Jakob shared a birthday with his mom, something he never let anyone forget. He had a servant’s heart and was always willing to help others. Even in his passing, Jakob continued to give by becoming an organ donor, saving the lives of six people through his selfless gift.

Jakob was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be missed more than words can express.

Visitation will be held at Grace Temple Baptist Church, 3820 Bosque Blvd. Waco, Texas, on Tuesday, July 21st from 6pm to 8pm. Funeral Services will be held at 10am on Wednesday, July 22nd also at Grace Temple Baptist Church. Following the Service there will be a luncheon from 1200pm to 2pm at the Waco Missions, 3316 JJ Flewellen Rd. Waco, Texas.
