Jack Woodall

Jack C. Woodall, 85 of Waco, left this life on earth to be with the Lord on Monday, January 14, 2008. Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 17th, at OakCrest Funeral Home with pastors Glenn Jones and Kay Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Hubbard, Texas.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening, January 16th, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd. in Waco.

Jack Woodall was born October 6, 1922 in Amity, Arkansas, the fourth of ten children to Gad and Tommie Woodall. He spent most of his childhood in Texas. He served as a marine in World War II, was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years and a longtime member of Cogdell Methodist Church.

In 1946, he married the love of his life, Louise Ferrell, and they raised a family of three daughters. During this time, Mr. Woodall worked as a maintenance electrician at General Tire until his retirement in 1986.

He was a remarkable individual – kind, patient, and young-at-heart. His smile, laugh, and whistle were well-known to all; his enduring faith was an inspiration to everyone who knew him.

Mr. Woodall passed away with his wife and three daughters at his side. He will be truly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Louise; three daughters and their husbands – Rita and Mike Hansen of San Antonio, Joyce and Mike Peyton of Waco, Vickie and Bill Hibbs of Corpus Christi; four grandchildren – Michael and Jennifer Hansen, Brett Hansen, Russell and Teresa Gray, and Kristen Gray; four great-grandchildren; two sisters – Helen Lee and Lucy Lenox; two brothers – Max Woodall and Hal Woodall; a host of family and friends; and his dog, Cody.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to HOTPACS (Parkinson's Support Group), c/o Carol Smith, 1900 Hwy 6, B218, Waco, TX 76712 OR Cogdell Methodist Church.
