Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Monday, October 13th at OakCrest Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Ines was born in Waco on August 19, 1951 and lived a full and devoted life centered on service and family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shera Carey Arriola; his parents, Marcelino “Chuck” Arriola and Mary Rendon Arriola; his sister, Consuelo Arriola Von Hassel; and his son-in-law, Patrick Sweeney.
Ines is survived by his two daughters, whom he lovingly called “his girls,” Dawn Arriola and Veronica Arriola Ballew; and by his three cherished grandchildren, Madeline, Abbygail, and Jaxon Ballew, who brought immense joy to his life. He also leaves behind his siblings Mary Anthony Arriola, Rosalinda Arriola Kitchens, and Charles Arriola, as well as his extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
Ines proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, first stationed in Korea and later in Vietnam. He received four medals in recognition of his service: the National Defense Service Medal, Sharpshooter Medal, Marksman Medal, and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Service Medal. After returning home, he attended McLennan Community College and went on to dedicate his professional life to the State of Texas, working first as a State Trooper with the Department of Public Safety and later as a General Engineering Technician for the Texas Department of Transportation.
Ines was known for his strong work ethic, his skill with rebuilding automobiles of all kinds, and his talent for fixing almost anything. He enjoyed watching a great football game, cheering for his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys, and he loved spending time outdoors around the BBQ grill, where his family and friends gathered to enjoy his cooking and his company. He was also an animal lover, especially of cats, always taking in strays and sharing his love for them with his daughters and grandchildren, teaching them the joy of caring for animals.
He was deeply devoted to his late wife, Shera, and carried her memory with him throughout his life. He proudly claimed the titles of Dad and Grandpa. His love and pride for his daughters and grandchildren were immeasurable—he delighted in every moment spent with them and considered being their father and grandfather his greatest joy.
Honorary pallbearers include his brother, Charles Arriola, and his grandson, Jaxon Ballew.
Ines’ life was one of service and love. He will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family and the many ways he enriched the lives of those around him.
