Ida Posey

Ida Mae Posey, 99, of Waco, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2012. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2012 at Rosemound Cemetery with Chaplain Curtis Holland officiating. Visitation with Mrs. Posey's family will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.

Mrs. Posey was born January 21, 1913 in Waco to Joe Taylor and Fannie Mae Gibson Taylor. She graduated from Waco High School and went to work for Bell Telephone for many years. She met and married H. B. Posey who passed away in 1989. In 1961, she graduated in the first LVN class at Hillcrest Hospital and then began a career in nursing. She worked at TSTI for many years retiring at the age of 65.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, H. B. Posey; and three sisters, Helen Goss, Doris Walker and Jolesine Clarkson.

Mrs. Posey is survived by her son, Ron Posey of Waco; her step daughter, Madilene Blaylock of Austin; and many nieces and nephews.
