Geraldine Miller Petty

Geraldine Miller Petty, 93, of Waco, formerly of Colorado City, Texas, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014, in Waco, Texas. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 1 at Bosqueville Cemetery with Ernie Christie officiating.
Jerry was born in Eastland County, Texas to Roy Haden and Cecil K. Miller. She married Lowell Ellis Petty in 1940. Jerry spent most of her married life in Eastland County and Mitchell County, where the couple enjoyed rearing their son, Don Ellis, and daughter, Shannon Jean. They were members of the 22nd and Austin Street Church of Christ in Colorado City. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker, and later enjoyed many years working in Eddy's Pharmacy.
After retirement, Lowell and Jerry moved to Bosqueville, near Waco, dividing their time among children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren there and in Bowie, Texas. They were members of Lake Shore Drive Church of Christ in Waco. Jerry enjoyed gardening and homemaking. She was a gracious hostess for family meals and enjoyed family sing-alongs of church songs.
Jerry was preceded in death by her husband Lowell, three sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Don and Orinea Petty of Waco; a daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Mike Brown of Bowie; five grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, two sisters, two sisters-in-law, and a host of nephews, nieces, and friends.
