Frances Young

Frances Marie (Markum) Young passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at her home in Frisco, Texas. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, at OakCrest Funeral Home with Msgr. Mark Deering officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation with her family will be from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Frances Young was born in Waco, to Tolbert and Emma Markum on April 15, 1919. She married Raymond T. Young in Waco, Texas. Beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Frances extracted the most she could out of life. She got great joy from her bounty of close friends. She enjoyed traveling the world many times over, gardening at her cherished home in Waco, playing bridge with her wonderful friends, the “Ridgewood Ladies” , and working with the Historic Waco foundation. Frances’ most cherished times were those spent with her beloved family.

Frances is preceded in death by her husband Raymond T. Young, son, Donald R. Young, sister Wanda Cook, Brother, Bernice Markum, and grandson Jerry Don Young.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Cathy Wire of Frisco, Tx; granddaughter, Michelle Silva and her husband, Joseph of Lewisville, Tx; brother Donald Markum and his wife, Jeanette of Robinson, Tx.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Young, Gary Young, Don Markum and Joseph Silva.
