Eileen Kubala, 67, of Waco, Texas passed away Monday, October 13, 2025 after years of struggling with respiratory illness. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 42 years, Charles Kubala; son, Christopher Kubala and wife Sharon Denning of Bainbridge Island, Washington; daughter, Emily Triggs and husband Steven Triggs of Georgetown, Texas; granddaughter, Zoe Kubala; brother, Larry Holub and wife Gayle; sister, Beverly Dobiyanski; and many beloved nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Arline Holub, and brother, Dennis Holub.
Eileen was born to Johnnie and Arline Holub on November 28, 1957, Thanksgiving Day. She was raised in Waco, Texas and attended St. Louis Catholic School and Reicher Catholic High School, graduating in 1976. Following high school, she attended Baylor University to pursue her dream of becoming a teacher and graduated in 1979. She was a loving wife, mother, teacher, and lover of animals, particularly dogs.
In June 1983 she married Charles, and they welcomed Christopher in 1984 and Emily in 1988. Christopher is a Chief Mate at Washington State Ferries and pilots the ferries from Seattle to Bainbridge Island. Emily shares her mom’s passion of teaching and serves as an Intermediate math teacher at St. Helen Catholic School in Georgetown, Texas.
Eileen was a dedicated teacher to young children for thirty-two years, spending twenty-seven years at Mountainview Elementary in Waco ISD. She was proud of her students and loved to reunite with many of them years later as adults in the Waco community. She would light up when she had the opportunity to interact with young children and loved to read books and talk with them about what they were learning.
Eileen was also dedicated to her Catholic faith and her home parish, St. Louis Catholic Church. She freely gave of her time to her church family, teaching religious education classes, participating in bible studies, ACTS retreats, and helping organize volunteers for various church activities. In her retirement, she took tremendous joy in helping the church office each Monday morning.
The family gives thanks to Eileen’s treasured friends, who loved and supported her throughout her life. Her life was enriched and her heart filled by each friendship.
