July 24, 1926 – December 1, 2013

Doris Handberg of Hewitt went home Sunday December 1, 2013 surrounded by family. Services will be Thursday December 5th at 3:00 pm at Robinson Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday December 4th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Oak Crest Funeral Home in Waco, TX.

Doris was born July 24, 1926 in Laurel Hill, Florida. She was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She was known by most as Granny or G.G. She is known for her kind and loving heart and willingness to help others while never asking for anything for herself and also for her love of animals especially her numerous fur babies.

She is survived by 2 sisters; Carlie Hagen of Fort Pierce, Florida and Agnes Jones of Pomona Park FL, 3 children; Tina Allen and husband Jim of Hewitt, Dian Coker and husband Johnny of Waco and Clint Jones of Eddy; 12 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the gracious doctors, nurses and staff at Providence Hospice for the wonderful care they took of Doris and her family in her last days with us.
