Diane Marie Stone, 75, of Eddy, Texas passed away on May 12, 2026 after a battle with pneumonia. Born on July 17, 1950 in Dallas, Texas to Emil Jakubik and Judith Sykora, Diane lived a life defined by extraordinary love, boundless generosity, and an unwavering devotion to the people she held dear. Diane was raised in a close family alongside her siblings, whom she protected at all costs. She was well known for being a loving Nana and dear friend as well as her strong faithfulness to God. Diane retired from Texas Farm Bureau after working for 29 years, and volunteering for the food bank at Acts Church for more than 10 years. She went on to raise 3 of her beautiful grandchildren for the next 18 years and continued to still maintain her strong faith that never wavered.
Diane was preceded in death by both of her parents, Emil Jakubik and Judith Sykora, and both of her sisters, Elaine Copeland (Kenneth Copeland) and Sherry Stephens (John Paul Stephens).
Diane is remembered by all of those who have survived her including Diane Cornett, her beloved best friend since 16 years of age, who was her sister at heart. They had a shared love of the Beatles. They graduated Waco High School together and both dated men named James (that they enjoyed going on double dates with). After graduation, they both went on to marry. Diane Stone and Diane Cornett went through six decades of life adventures together- becoming parents and eventually becoming grandparents known as Nana and Nanny.
She is also survived by her baby brother, Clinton Jakubik and his wife, Pat; two beloved children: daughter, Tammy Johnson and her spouse, Scot, and son, Brian Stone; many wonderful grandchildren including Cory Stone, Keeley Stone and her spouse Jeremiah Williams, Elizabeth Stone and her spouse Halston Strickland, Brian Stone, Jr., Bree-Ann Jares and her husband Steven, Courtney Witcosky and her spouse Josh Turnage, and Abigail Casey and her husband Sean; many great grandchildren whom she adored including Destiny Ruth Hadleigh Cook, AnnaLeah Turnage, Rosalie West, Kyson Jares, Elijah Casey, Amelia Turnage, Paris Williams, and Kamiyah Williams.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Hillcrest MICU for the love, care, and compassion they provided to Diane and her family during her stay.
** As Diane adored the color green (especially sage) the family is suggesting anyone that attends the vistiation wear a shade of green to honor her memory**
