Dahlia F. Merritt, 77, of Waco, passed away Friday, November 8, 2013 at a local care center. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 12, at Crawford Cemetery with Deacon Garza officiating. The Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Monday, at OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m.
Dahlia, better known as Dolly, was born July 30, 1936 in Corpus Christi to Jose Fuentes and Martina Duitron Fuentes. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She worked as a seamstress during her working career.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy D. Merritt; and daughter, Mary Blanco.
Dolly is survived by her sons, Leo Blanco, Jr and wife, Debbie of Utah, Jesse Blanco and wife, Barbara of Waco, Ralph Blanco and wife, Melinda of Riesel and Guy Merritt, Jr and wife, Betty of Waco; daughters, Sylvia Salinas and husband, Raymond of Waco and Deborah Reyes of Waco; several siblings; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be John Blanco, Mark Blanco, Mike Blanco, Jesse Blanco, Jr., Colton Blanco and Leo Blanco, III.
