Clennon “Odie” Taylor, 73, of Waco, Texas passed away on May 23, 2026, surrounded by his loving family at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.
Born on January 18, 1953 in Waco, Odie was the beloved son of Martha Marie Waltz Taylor and Harold Lloyd Taylor. He graduated from Connally High School in 1972 and went on to get a business degree and eventually became the president and owner of CF Supply Inc. in 1999. For more than 25 years, Odie worked side by side with his sons, Kenny and Kevin Taylor, building not only a successful business, but a legacy of dedication, perseverance, and family. He taught not only his sons, but everyone he worked with the value of hard work, commitment, the importance of cutting up every now and then, but above all to treat people with respect. He loved his employees, and it is evident that they adored him back.
Odie was known for his integrity, kindness, empathy, and generosity while maintaining his humble spirit. He was the type of man that walked the walk and when he spoke, people listened because his words had meaning and were impactful. He knew the importance of helping others and did frequently without ever wanting acknowledgement or recognition. Odie, known as ”PawPaw” to his grandchildren, and his wife, Barbara, loved to attend all their grandchildren’s many sporting games and activities over the years. He loved collecting intricate knives, hot rods and sports cars, traveling, going out to eat with family and friends, and hosting family holiday parties, especially Halloween so he could dress up to scare all, not just the kids.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 31 years, Barbara Holcomb Taylor; sons, Kenneth ‘Kenny” Wayne Taylor and wife Michelle, Kevin Dell Taylor and wife Cathy; bonus daughters, Tina Veselka and husband Israel, Kristin McFarlin and husband Gene; bonus son, Martin Felan; grandchildren, Hayden, Bransen, Kasen, Alysen, Weston, Andrea, Ethan, Patrick, Sarah, Rylee, Lacey, Matthew, Karlie, Heather, James, and Sydney; and was blessed with many great grandchildren. “Best brother in the world,” Lonnie Taylor and wife JoAnn; sister-in-law, Linda Patrick, brother and sister-in-law, Mike Holcomb and wife Melinda and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Odie was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Martha Taylor and brother, Ricky Taylor.
A visitation will be held at OakCrest Funeral Home on Thursday, May 28, 2026 from 6pm-8pm. Funeral service to be held at OakCrest Funeral Home on Friday, May 29, 2026 at 10am with procession to Oakwood Cemetery immediately following chapel service at OakCrest.
Though deeply missed, Odie’s memory and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
