Cathryn D. Kreger

Cathryn Kreger, 63, of Waco, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2026, at her home. Graveside services will be held at Rosemound Cemetery, Waco, Texas on Tuesday, October 6th at 2:00 pm with Joe Griffin officiating.

Cathryn was born in Midland, Texas, to Lonnie and Joyce Kreger. She graduated from Midland High School in 1981 and earned her bachelor’s degree in economics from University of Texas at the Permian Basin (UTPB) in Odessa, Texas in 1990. She completed her MBA from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio in 1991. She was also a certified massage therapist and served her clients admirably through her gift of massage.

Cathryn worked in the telecommunications industry from 1991-2013 and moved up the ranks to Account Executive. She also volunteered with the Red Cross and became a CPR instructor.

Cathryn was an avid card and game player. She was often the winner at the family games of Farkle, Phase Ten, Rummicube, and Uno. Her smile brightened the room, and she often teased others about her winnings.

In 2025, Cathryn along with her mother and sisters cruised to the Northeast Coast and on to Canada. She also took cruises with her mother to listen to gospel quartets and Christian artists. Cathryn loved being an aunt and she was fondly referred to as “Aunt Kitty”. One of her greatest joys in life was sharing time with her niece and nephews. She made special memories with each of them.

Cathryn is preceded in death by her father, Lonnie Kreger. She is survived by her mother, Joyce Kreger; sister, Cindy Riemenschneider and her son, Jacob and wife Kelsey, and their sons, Jace and Bowen; and her sister, Connie Grewell and husband Gabe, and their children, Perry and Kallan.

Cathryn had a strong devotion to World Vision, sponsoring multiple children throughout her lifetime. One little girl she sponsored grew up to become a nurse serving others in her country. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to World Vision.
