Catherine G. Arechiga, 66, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 19, at Marantha Church of Waco, 2200 Ross Ave., with burial in Oakwood Cemetery. Prayer service will be 7 p.m. Friday July 18, 2014 at OakCrest Funeral Home.

Catherine was born June 18, 1948 in Waco to Telasforo and Catherine (Carbajal) Gonzales. Catherine loved dancing, cooking, hanging out with her friends and family. She was affectionately known to all of her family and friends as “Grandma Cathy”. She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Arechiga; her parents; her sister, Mary Frances Contreras; and nephews, Dan C. Gonzales and Frank T. Gonzales; and brother-in-law Paul Carrizales.

Catherine is survived by her partner Robert Guiterrez; her children, Daniel and spouse Anna Arechiga; Benito and spouse Dorina Arechiga; Justin Arechiga and spouse Monica; daughters, Regina A. Gonzales and spouse Augustine Marquez; Katina and spouse Augustine Martinez, Sr. ; Cathy and spouse Benito Andrade, Trish Arechiga and spouse Anthony Dickerson; 29 grandkids and 13 great-grandkids. Sisters, Ramona Carrizales, Natalie Amaro and husband Rosalio; brothers, Luis Gonzales and wife, Gloria M., Frank Gonzales and wife Gloria E., as well as many other friends and family who loved her very much and will miss her greatly.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Augustine Martinez, Jr., Benito Andrade III, Adrian Andrade, Robert Arechiga, Benito Arechiga, Jr., Aric Arechiga Antonio Arechiga and Shane Rodriguez; Honorary pallbearers will include, Jacob, Ruben, Emilio, Jimmy, Arthur, Cruz, Matthew, Moses, Diego, Andrew, Johnny, Benicio, Amorie, Antonio Dickerson, Carlos Martinez and Francisco and Baby Max.
