Betty Ann Meyer, 80, of Speegleville, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at her temporary home of Providence Village surrounded by family.
A celebration of life will be on Monday, September 8th from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Oak Crest Funeral Home located at 4520 Bosque Blvd., Waco, TX 76710.
Services will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 9th at Perry Methodist Church, 193 County Rd 127, Riesel, TX 76682. Reverand Ron Oden and Reverand Ruby Wayman are officiating.
Betty was born April 19, 1945, in Marlin, TX, to Ernest and Rosalie Kroll.
Betty was proud to have worked for the Texas Farm Bureau state office for her entire adult life until her retirement. She loved to travel with her husband, Jerry, to trips such as Jackson Hole, Las Vegas, Orlando, and Salt Lake. Family trips would include taking grandkids to Disney World and later, visiting her nephew Justin in college while in Wisconsin. Later she went on trips with her traveling ladies’ group and would talk for hours about her adventures. She was a member of the Perry Methodist Church and served on their board for many years.
Betty was a collector of butterfly trinkets and all things Home Interior, prominently displaying both in numerous curio cabinets around the family home of over 40 years. She was an excellent cook and loved to share her recipes and techniques with those who showed interest. However, her main love was spoiling her grandbabies and great-niece, Brooklyn.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Meyer; parents, Ernest and Rosalie Kroll; and sister-in-law, Sherry Kroll.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Cynthia McCune and husband, Ray of Hewitt; son, James Meyer and wife, Kathryn of College Station; brother, Ernest Kroll Jr. and wife, LeeAnna of Wheelock; sister, Linda Kroll of Hewitt; brother, Larry Kroll of Marlin; grandchildren, Jennifer Olson and husband, Ryan, Garreth Taylor, Josey Meyer, Kasidy Meyer, Travis Chandler, Kayla Custer, and Hunter Cobb; great-grandchild, Kenna Olson; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and extended family members.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Olson, Chuck Kroll, Andy Kroll, David Glockzin, Eddie Roberts, Darrel Kunkle, Hunter Cobb, and Travis Chandler.
Music will be performed by soloist, Justin Kroll and pianist, Jane Oden.
