Barry Branch Todar was born on November 11, 1946, in Waco, Texas to Jack E. Todar, Sr. and Nola Faye “Bobbye” (Branch) Todar. He passed away on August 10, 2025.
Barry graduated from Waco High School in1965 and the University of Texas in Arlington in 1976. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served in Viet Nam. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and married Carla Maria Lentz on March14, 1997.
Barry Todar’s life was well-lived. He was a loving husband and devoted to his family. His friendships spanned decades. He was always there to help and be supportive of his family and friends without being asked. Barry was treasured and loved, and he will be greatly missed.
Barry was preceded in death by his parents, Jack E. Todar, Sr. and Nola Faye “Bobbye” Todar; his brothers, Jack E. Todar, Jr. and Phillip D. Todar; and many of his very close friends and his fur babies, Tooter, Daisy, Doodlebug, Elvis, Cisco, Blackie, Emmy, Chloe, Max, Paco and his only cat, Doc.
He is survived by his wife, Carla Todar; sister, Gaye Bochi; nephews, Jack E. Todar, III. and wife Carol, Jeff Allen and wife Sandra, Amer Al-Bochi, and Omar Al-Bochi; nieces, Deborah L. Todar and Elizabeth Allen; great nephews, Justin Todar and Tommy Todar; great niece, Olivia Rodgers; and several great, great nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by his best friend and cousin, Roger Todar and wife Diane; dear cousins, Francine Todar-Peters and husband Bill, Kenneth Todar, and Denise Reed and husband Thomas; his beloved sister-in-law, Susannah Lopez; and longtime friends, Dwayne and Barbara Schwarting.
Services will be held for Mr. Todar at OakCrest Funeral Home on Saturday, August 30 at 3:00 pm.
