Athalene Skeeter

Athalene Skeeter, 106, of Hewitt passed away June 10, 2014. Visitation will be 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 12 at OakCrest Funeral Home. A private burial will be held Friday at Oakwood Cemetery.

Athalene was born January 6, 1908 in San Angelo, TX to Jonathan J. and Annie Mae Osteen Burch. She moved to Dallas at a young age and graduated from Sunset HS. Athalene married John Albert Skeeter in 1926. She moved to Hewitt in 1982.

Athalene was preceded in death by her husband and daughter, Jeraldine Brinkley.

She is survived by her daughter, Jacque Crawford; two grandsons, Ronnie Crawford and wife, Keren and Randy Crawford and wife, Rhonda; 7 great-grandchildren, Shelley Reeves and husband, Matt, Blake Crawford, Scott Crawford and wife, Heidi, Lindsay Cleere and husband, Marc, Katie Morgan and husband, Tanner, Kyle Crawford and fiancé, Kelsey and Ricky Cooper and wife, Nathali; 10 great-great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Marshall, Landry, McKenzie, Carter, Lily, Ainsley, Rylee, Seth and Sydnee.
