Annie Katherine Lyles Turner was born March 10, 2024 and entered her eternal rest June 16, 2026 at the age of 102. She lived through so many changes in her century of life. Her strong Christian beliefs carried her through the light and the dark.
She was the second of four children born to Cleveland Henry Lyles and Emma Bates Lyles. She grew up during the great depression and understood need and economy. She graduated from Bruceville High School. After which she moved to Waco, found a job, attended Baylor University briefly. One faithful weekend during WWII, she met a soldier home on leave. William (Bill) Mack Turner became the love of her life and they were married December 18, 1945, just two weeks after he was released from the Army. They had one daughter, Kristina Ann.
Katherine was a loving wife, adoring mother, doting grandmother and great-grandmother and a generous friend. She loved cooking, baking, chatting on the phone with friends and family, crocheting, and traveling with Bill. Her greatest life lesson was Chicago is too cold a place to live for a Texan.
She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Sybil Pilgrim; brothers, C.H. Lyles and Billy Gordon Lyles; granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Franks; and nieces and nephews. She is survived by her daughter, Kristina Ann Franks and her husband James; granddaughter, Sonja Hullum and her husband Damien; great grandsons, Ethan Franks, Francis Lange, and John Thomas Lange; and great granddaughter, Keally Nicole Lange. She also leaves behind 3 nieces, Sherry, Susie, and Diane; 2 nephews, Tommy and Buster; sister-in-law, Margaret Young; and 4 special friends, Jan Meir, Donna Robertson, Opal Matthews, and Tommie Wilkerson.
